Kim Spillane
Conservation Assistant
Kim Spillane joined the Wildlife Heritage Foundation in October 2021 as a Conservation Assistant, bringing with her a fresh perspective and a strong commitment to environmental stewardship. She graduated from the University of Oregon in June 2021, earning a B.S. in Environmental Studies with a minor in Political Science. This interdisciplinary background provides her with a valuable understanding of both the scientific and policy aspects of conservation.
A significant part of Kim’s academic experience was her study abroad program in Thailand and Indonesia. This immersive experience allowed her to directly engage with marine ecosystems and contribute to coral reef restoration efforts in the Indo-Pacific Ocean.
Kim is deeply passionate about environmental conservation, sustainability, and environmental justice. She believes in the importance of creating equitable and sustainable solutions to environmental challenges.
In her free time, Kim enjoys exploring the natural world through outdoor activities such as hiking and camping, spending quality time with her family and friends, and, of course, she enjoys the companionship of her cat. WHF is fortunate to benefit from Kim's combination of academic knowledge, practical experience, and genuine passion for conservation.
