Empowering the Next Generation of Environmental Stewards
Since 2008, the Wildlife Heritage Foundation (WHF) has inspired over 10,000 students in Placer County through our Outdoor Environmental Education Program. We believe in the power of hands-on experience to foster a deep connection with nature. Our goal is to get young people outside, exploring the natural world around them, and becoming passionate advocates for our region's diverse wildlife and habitats.
Experience Nature Firsthand
WHF offers students a unique opportunity to step out of the classroom and into the wild. Through our free field trips to local nature preserves, students immerse themselves in real-world science. They use scientific equipment like microscopes and binoculars to explore, observe, and learn firsthand about wildlife habitats and their vital role in our community.
Beyond understanding native ecosystems, our guided programs highlight the impact of human activity on wildlife and their environments. These experiences are designed to be a catalyst, inspiring students to become active, engaged stewards of our shared natural resources.
