Community Education Program
WHF is committed to providing educational opportunities for students of all ages to experience and appreciate the many different types of plants and animals living on our protected open-space preserves.
WHF offers various educational opportunities for you and your class, such as nature walks throughout our various nature preserves led by our resident wildlife biologist. These are excellent opportunities for your students to get out and experience, live and in person, what nature has to offer. A binder is provided to you describing each of our habitats (e.g., wetlands, grasslands, oak woodlands, agricultural, vernal pools, etc.) so that you can keep abreast of information and lesson plans linked to the State of California's content standards.
We also offer opportunities for ongoing classroom research projects. Ask us to plan around what you are studying in class. Our education program coordinator is happy to work with you to create a field trip directly linked to what you are studying. Our goal is for your students to have an amazing outdoor experience!
As always, our educational programs and field trips are free of charge. This is our gift to students of all ages. You need only to set up dates and exchange information with our education program coordinator!
