Much of the population of El Dorado County has become suburbanized, as the Sacramento Metropolitan Statistical Area area has expanded. In addition, the population of the Lake Tahoe area has also boomed recently.

The 0.25-acre open-space preserve area located in El Dorado County, California, was set aside during the planning of the Cambridge Self Storage development to preserve wetlands and open space within the community. The Cambridge Self Storage Group manages the conservation areas; however, WHF serves as the preserve conservator to ensure compliance with the terms of the conservation easement.
